The
picturesque village of Abbots Bromley is home to this thriving
boarding and day school for some 300 girls. The peaceful
surroundings give no clue to the hive of activity which
characterises this community. The School of S. Mary & S.
Anne is academically non-selective; however the girls are
encouraged and supported by well qualified and experienced
teachers to achieve their full academic potential. GCSE,
AS level and A Level results consistently place the school
amongst the finest in the UK, providing almost unrivalled
opportunities.
Specialist
EFL tutors are available to support students for whom English
is not their first language.
Art
and Drama feature strongly and the Music Department has
an outstanding reputation and distinguished tradition. Pupils
have gained places in the National Youth Orchestra and National
Youth Wind Orchestra. Our senior choirs have sung with Sir
Simon Rattle and the C.B.S.O. They have also performed at
the Royal Albert Hall, London and Notre Dame Cathedral,
Paris.
Tuition
is offered in most orchestral instruments in addition to
piano, organ and singing. With so many young musicians it
is not surprising that there are frequent Radio and TV broadcasts
from the school.
While
we encourage all students to swim, other sporting activities
are not compulsory for dance students. However, for those
interested in sport, the school has excellent facilities
including an indoor swimming pool and equestrian centre.
